Child's Body Found in Ibb Governorate After Mysterious Disappearance
Citizens discovered the body of a child on Sunday, approximately two weeks after his mysterious disappearance in the Ibb Governorate in central Yemen. The discovery has prompted public calls for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Local sources reported that residents of the village of Huit, in the Ahkoum region of Hazm Al-Udain district, west of the governorate, found the body of the child, Awad Abdo Hassan Jama'i, 13 days after he went missing. The child's body was reportedly found with facial and bodily disfigurement in a mountainous area near the village.
The condition in which the body was discovered has raised significant suspicions of foul play. These sources have urged the relevant authorities to launch an immediate and transparent investigation to clarify the details of the incident and the circumstances of the child's death.
The child had reportedly vanished suddenly on June 13 under unexplained circumstances. This prompted extensive search operations by the local community over the preceding days, culminating in the tragic discovery of his deceased body.
This incident evokes memories of a similar case in the same governorate in March of last year, when a child named Haitham Mohammed Mahyoub was found in the village of Dhahran, in the Maghariba region of Mydakhir district, approximately ten days after his disappearance. That incident also sparked widespread controversy and demands for accountability.
