National Resistance Thwarts Houthi Oil Tanker Attack Attempt

National Resistance forces announced on Friday evening that they thwarted an attempt by Houthi militias to target an oil tanker in the Red Sea. The thwarted operation involved a booby-trapped boat that was approaching a restricted area off the coast of the Mokha power station in western Yemen.

The National Resistance's military media reported that naval patrols detected a Houthi militia boat moving at an abnormal speed towards the restricted zone. The patrols engaged the vessel with appropriate weaponry, preventing it from approaching the targeted area.

Initial assessments, based on the force of the explosion and the thick smoke emanating from the Houthi boat after engagement, confirmed that it was laden with explosives and prepared for an attack, according to the military media.

The military media did not provide details regarding any damages or casualties resulting from the thwarted operation.

The National Resistance reiterated that its naval and land units are on high alert to counter any threats, emphasizing that the Houthi militia bears responsibility for attempts to target maritime navigation and vital facilities in the region.
